WCS Wisconsin Int'l Raceway
Quick Weekend Recap:
Qualifying- 19.228 (New WIR Late Model Track Record)
Feature- 8th
We started out our day with a blistering 19.228 second lap,
good enough to break the WIR All-Time Track Record. Previous record
was held by multi-time track champion Terry Baldry at 19.236 seconds
set in 2004. Prior the Baldry holding the record, Butch Miller
had set the mark with a 19.238 second lap in 1984.
In the Feature event, We started 13th in the 28 car field. We
were able to work our way into the 5th spot by the halfway caution
at lap 50. After the break, we were able to get into the 4th spot,
and a few laps later, we were sent to the pits for leaking gear
oil onto the racing surface. We restarted the main event in the
rear w/ 37 laps remaining and were able to make it back up into
the 8th position at the conclusion of the 100 lap contest.
There was no question in anyones mind today which team had the
fastest car and we are looking forward to the opening Thursday
Night Thunder event at WIR on May 25th. Racing starts at 7:00pm!
